About Wendell Jones

At 66 years of age I haven't done more than a lot of people ever get an opportunity to accomplish in their music career. I have played on stage with major Opry stars. I have played some big venues in the Nashville area. I've traveled across the US with a talent agency playing bass with a stage band searching for talent. I've been a producer, a sound tech, and had a plethora of other assignments that I've completed with joy and excitement. Music has always been my vision for my life. The one thing that fulfills me the most is my solo career. Sitting alone on a stage with a guitar and a stool singing and telling stories entertains me more than I could ever convey. I've been told I'm pretty good at it. I've been writing stories and songs for 50+ years. The one thing I haven't done is that would add a cherry to the top of my venture is sell one of my tunes or get one of them cut by an artist of some notoriety. I came close some years ago, but who knows what causes circumstances to turn out like they do? I still play writers nights. I live quietly with a wife of 40 years who suffers with dementia. She's the love of my life for now and ever but shall never be the focus of my writing again as reality hits harder than I can slam a door sometimes. I try to write from the heart but when you get my age it's best to stay upbeat or you sink in the quagmire of depression you create.
