I grew up in a musical family and played the violin in the Winnipeg Symphony and Manitoba Chamber Orchestra in my first career.  After developing "focal dystonia" in my bow hand, I began my 2nd career as a strings teacher.  All along, I've enjoyed writing songs as a hobby.  After getting a few published and released by other artists, I decided to try my hand at singing my own songs and I'm really enjoying it!  I typically record my own piano and vocals, if money is tight I'll make my own bass, drum, and acoustic guitar parts on the computer, but I always hire pro's to fill out the electric guitar parts as I am not a guitar player.
