Publishing By Platinum Song Music

Platinum Song is our sister publishing house for finely crafted songs.  It consists of Major and Minor pitch songs which are contracted to be pitched by Platinum Song to various members of the music industry.  Songs may be submitted to Platinum Song via email to "submissions@platinumsong.com."  Please only send one song at a time.  Your song will be reviewed, and if accepted, you will be offered a contract for a two-year period during which time Platinum Song will pitch your song to fitting solicitations. Should your song be subsequently picked up for a cut, Platinum Song will retain publishing rights to the song for that cut.  Writer/composer rights will stay with the writer/composer.

Vaughn;

I love, "Just Lookin."  I've sent the restructure of it to Sherry, and I'd like to keep this thread going on here, publicly, so others can weigh in on what happens.  I see this as a very big deal since I stress formatting so much.  We'll see how the song comes out!  We'll hopefully see if the formatting helps. If it doesn't help, then I'll shut up!

Also, do you have the chords and melody structure available?

Hello again, Vaughn.

I just got word back from Sherry that she is good to do this.  So, it's up to you.  All your songs are very good, and I will go ahead tomorrow and pitch them as they are.  I'm just trying to help you.  But if you want to stick to what you have, I understand that all our songs are our babies.  Especially true of certain ones.  So I won't stand in your way with the Indies.  But I was hoping one day to move you to Platinum Song and major pitches when we get it there.

Hello Vaughan!

Which song are you talking about?  And I don't get any commissions or cuts for anything on this site. I just want you to prepare the songs for MAJOR cuts, because I believe that they would be ready with a little reformatting to what I believe is an accepted, traditional format.  And yes, I understand that you can get by sometimes with breaking the rules, especially with Indie cuts, but Country is still playing by the format rules for the most part, so I don't recommend that you deviate from them.

I'll tell you what.  Sherry on here only charges $99.00 for a demo if you have the melody, which you do.  If she has time to produce it right away, I will pay for it!

For whatever it is or isn't worth, the bottom line is that I think you are an outstanding writer, and with a little tweaking, you're ready for the big boys.  We hope to be pitching to them soon!  I would love to help you get ready for them, if you will let me.  So tell me which song it is, if you will let me have Sherry to do a demo of it, and when done, if I may forward the song for consideration.

Unfortunately, there's only one song in the batch that is ready to pitch.  You all have to understand that if the song get's picked up, they will immediately want a copy of the lyric.  They will use that lyric to sing the song for themselves.  If it's not right, they toss the song! I'm not going there!

I'm going to review these songs again tomorrow.  I will send what is right forward.  The songs all sound great, and the lyrics are basically very good.  But the formatting of the songs are off, and the repeats of verses and bridges don't add to the song.  Repeats are for the chorus!  Let's tighten them up and generally use traditional formats please.  And I hope you can do quick demos with the right formats.  I would love to be able to forward all these songs!

Song Pitch 4 - Open until 7/25/25

Okay people, you're making it hard to decide what goes and what doesn't go, now. Songs are getting much better, formatting is improving, lyrics are mostly matching the demos.  Gotta watch out for timing though -- 2.5 to 3.5 minutes is what you want for the radio. Repeating verses and bridges that have already been sung is generally not needed and just goes to take more time.

So long as you have your lyrics posted with your audio, you don't need to copy the lyrics here in the pitch.  I follow them and copy them from your audio entry. But if your lyric doesn't match your demo, you only have until tomorrow to fix it, or I can't forward your song.  So, please get them fixed up where it's needed.  Must be word-for-word match!  Just go to your Audio entry and click on the "Star" or "Cog" symbol to edit your entry if you need to make changes.

Beyond the technicalities, you winners here truly deserve to be heard!  So congratulations to wins well deserved!
