I began coming to Nashville from Indianapolis in 1987. Had Ron Cornelius for my first publisher. We did alot of demos with Ron. I relocated to Nashville in the spring of 1993 under the advisement of the Indianapolis chapter of NSAI. I had song of the month 5 months in a row. The first week in Nashville we attended a NSAI event where a song got us the attention of someone at TENTEN music publishing. (Alan Jackson's publishing company}. Before we knew it we were in at Arista records. The song was never picked up. I was being sent around to publishers by Harry Warner Vice President of A&R at BMI. He would call them and set up appointments for me. When they would turn me down, he'd get angry. I believe he thought he had more power than that. It's frustrating. I write songs. That's what I do. Why? Because I love it!! I finally got songs into film and television. In addition, I have over 20 independent artist cuts out there. Of course, writing with other people is necessary. That improves your chances of getting a cut. Don't get stuck on a song. Go from one to the next. That's how to keep writer's block away.

I am a BMI singer/songwriter who has had success getting songs placed in film and television and with many independent artists. I'm a USAF veteran and have always had the goal of getting a cut from a major artist. I'm also a cousin of Stevie Ray Vaughan's. I was named after the Vaughan family.
